The Types of Surgeries Performed
Circumcision
Circumcision is a type of surgery to prepare for the resection of the foreskin, converging over the glans of the penis. The foreskin is the entirely retractable part of the skin that covers the penis tip.
Circumcision involves removing the foreskin just behind the penis head using a surgical scissors or scalpel. Any excessive bleeding may be appropriately managed using heat, and residual edges of the skin are stitched.
Lymph Node Biopsy
The lymphatic system, a crucial part of our body's defence system, is a complex network of fine tubes that transport a fluid called lymph. Lymph nodes, a key component of this system, play a vital role in fighting against illness.
A lymph node biopsy is a surgical procedure that involves the careful removal of lymph nodes using ultrasound as image guidance. The sample is then sent to the laboratory for analysis to determine if cancerous cells are present.
Hernia Surgery
Hernia surgery is a procedure to treat a hernia, which occurs when an organ pushes through a weakened part of the abdominal wall or diaphragm, resulting in an apparent bulge.
Hernia repair, a highly effective procedure, involves pushing the misplaced tissue back in position and strengthening the area with a durable, mesh-like material. This ensures a strong and lasting repair.
Soft Tissue Tumour Surgery
A soft tissue tumour is an abnormal growth within the soft tissue (fat, muscle and blood vessels). These are benign soft tissue masses beneath the skin’s surface. Surgery along with radiation therapy may be advised to eradicate the tumour.
Perianal Conditions
There are various types of perianal conditions, such as abscesses, haemorrhoids and swellings near the anal region. These conditions may range from mild to severe, and depending on the severity, they will need to be treated appropriately.
